Kamaaina Nissan is a locally owned, family run business that has been doing business on the Big Island since 1905. Kamaaina Nissan' parent company, I. Kitagawa and Company, Limited has been in the Car Business since 1915. Kamaaina Nissan moved to its present location in 1961 after the 1960 Tsunami which wiped downtown Hilo.

Kamaaina Nissan also has strong roots as a homegrown family owned business that is still run by the same family that started it over 100 years ago.
